From the first call to aftercare, in four steps

Most visits follow the same shape. If you are nervous, tell us when you book and we will book you a longer, quieter appointment at the end of the morning.

  1. 1

    Say what's wrong

Call or send a request and tell us what hurts, what has changed, or that you are simply due a check-up.

    About 5 minutes

  2. 2

    Check-up and a plan

We look at your teeth, gums and jaw, take X-rays only if they will change a decision, and talk through what we found.

    30 minutes · £68

  3. 3

    Treatment

Only what you have agreed to. You can raise a hand at any point and we stop straight away, no questions.

    Length agreed with you first

  4. 4

    Aftercare

A short note on what to expect tonight and this week, and a call from us the next day after longer treatments.

    Included with every treatment

A dentist showing a patient her X-ray on a tablet and talking it through

Check-up & hygiene

A look at your teeth, gums and jaw, X-rays where they help, and a polish that removes the build-up brushing misses. You leave knowing exactly what, if anything, needs doing.

Nervous about the dentist? You are in good company

Around a third of our patients tell us they feel anxious. It is the most ordinary thing you can tell us, and it changes how we book you in:

  • Longer appointments. We book nervous patients extra time, so nothing is rushed and you can ask everything twice.

  • A stop signal that works. Raise a hand and we stop straight away — to let you sit up, rinse, breathe, or just pause.

  • A look around first. You can visit just to meet the team and sit in the chair, with no treatment at all. Many people start there.

  • Sedation if you need it. For longer treatments we can offer sedation. We explain the options and the extra cost at your check-up, before you decide.

Who you will see

You can ask for any of us by name when you book, and you will see the same person at every visit of a treatment.

Every fee includes

  • Local anaesthetic, wherever a treatment needs it
  • X-rays and scans taken during that treatment
  • A review appointment within three months
  • Aftercare advice and the next-day call

Paying with insurance

We work with most health insurers, including Northgate and Bluepine. Bring your policy number to your first visit and we will tell you before treatment starts what your policy covers and what, if anything, is left for you to pay.

For treatments over £500 you can also spread the cost monthly — ask at reception and we will go through the figures with you.

What to bring

For a first appointment, very little:

  • A list of any medicines you take
  • Your insurance policy number, if you have one
  • Any X-rays from a previous dentist, if you have them (we can also request them for you)
  • Headphones, if music helps you relax

Arrive ten minutes early for your first visit. If you are running late, call us — we will usually still be able to see you.

Questions we hear most

Something else on your mind? Call 020 7946 0000 and ask before you book anything.

Most treatments should not hurt once the anaesthetic is working, and we check that it is before we start — properly numb, not “probably numb”. You may feel pressure and vibration. If you feel anything sharp, raise a hand and we stop and add more. Afterwards, most people manage with ordinary painkillers for a day or two, and we will tell you honestly when a treatment tends to ache more than that.

No. Gaps of five, ten, even twenty years are common here, and the reasons are usually good ones — cost, fear, a bad experience, life. We will tell you what we find and what we suggest, in order of urgency, and you decide how much to do and how fast.

We keep emergency appointments back every morning. Call before 10am and we will do our best to see you the same day; call later and we will offer the first slot we have and tell you how to manage the pain until then. If you have swelling that is spreading, trouble swallowing, or pain after a blow to the face, tell us straight away.

Yes. For treatments over £500 you can pay monthly, and implants are naturally spread anyway because the work happens in stages over several months. We go through the full figure with you before anything is booked, so there are no additions later.

Yes, from their first tooth. Children's check-ups are shorter and built around getting them used to the chair; we never push a nervous child into treatment that can wait. Parents can stay in the room throughout.

Cancel or move an appointment free of charge up to 24 hours before it starts — call or reply to your confirmation message. Inside 24 hours we may charge half the fee, because that slot is hard to refill; we will always try to fill it first and only charge if we cannot.
