Planned backwards
from the exam.
Twenty Mondays between your teenager and the GCSE maths papers, planned backwards from the exam. Sarah teaches the whole course herself — same teacher, same room, every week — and marks every piece of timed work personally.
The group is hybrid: Room 3 in Leeds, with every session streamed and recorded for anyone isolating, travelling or snowed in. Class size is capped at twenty and places are held for students referred by schools.
Parents receive a short written progress note after every mock. Last year's cohort averaged 1.8 grades above their school predictions; the course only claims what it can timetable, mark and feed back.
Room 3 on a Monday — Sarah teaches the whole course herself, every week.
How the
course runs
Same shape every week: teaching first, then practice with the teacher close by. Open a block to see what you will do — and what you leave with.
A diagnostic paper in week one sorts the whole course. Number in week two and three: fractions, percentages and standard form until they're reflexes.
You leave with: a topic map of the grade boundaries, with your gaps marked.
Expressions, equations and inequalities, then straight-line graphs and quadratics. Every method taught twice — once fast, once slow — and practised against the clock.
You leave with: two past-paper sections at target grade or above.
Angles, constructions, area and volume, then vectors and circle theorems. Geometry is where higher-tier marks hide; we go and get them.
You leave with: a completed geometry past paper, marked by Sarah.
Simultaneous and quadratic equations, functions, graphs of every flavour, and the proof questions most schools rush. Fortnightly timed sections continue.
You leave with: your proof portfolio — four questions, exam-ready.
Data handling and probability, the last full topic sweep, then nothing but papers: three full mocks, two marked walk-throughs, and a personal fix-list for the final week.
You leave with: three marked mock exams and a one-page revision plan.

Your teacher
Sarah Lindqvist
Sarah was head of maths at a Leeds secondary school for seven years before joining Meridian to teach smaller groups. She teaches both GCSE courses — maths on Mondays, English on Wednesdays — and marks every mock paper herself.
Her courses run backwards from the exam date: past papers from week three, timed practice every fortnight, and a full mock under exam conditions before the real thing. Parents get a short written progress note after every mock.
