Four steps · No enrolment fee
01
Choose a start date from the board. The date, room and teacher on the board are the date, room and teacher you get.
02
One short form. We reply within one working day and hold your place for 48 hours while you decide.
03
Every fee splits into 3 monthly instalments at no extra cost. No credit check, no card surcharge, no surprises later.
04
Turn up — or log on — at the printed time. Materials, instruments and workbooks are in the room waiting.
Making & music courses
A pot on the wheel. A full song on guitar. Five minutes of Spanish, out loud, to a real person. Meridian courses are timetabled around what you will have made — not around chapters in a book.
The fee on the course page is the whole fee. Materials, workbooks, instrument hire and exam booking are included where the course page says so — and it always says so.
Split any fee in 3
Pay monthly over the first three months of your course, at no extra cost. A £228 course is £76 a month — not £76 plus fees.
See the full fees page →| Course type | Term fee |

| Computing · 8 weeks, live online | £280 |

Spanish B1
Mon 09 Nov · 18:30
Studio potter for fourteen years. Teaches every wheel course at Meridian and fires the kiln himself — your pieces are in his hands start to finish.

Pottery
Tue 10 Nov · 19:00
Former orchestral pianist; has prepared 300+ students for graded exams. Her groups are small, steady and — students insist — funny.

Piano
Thu 12 Nov · 17:30
Software engineer turned teacher. His rule for beginners: no jargon survives the first hour, and everyone leaves week one with a working programme.

Sat 14 Nov · 10:00
Single sessions · Book a seat, not a term
10:00–13:00 · Studio 2 · With Tom Okafor · Bring pieces from any Meridian pottery course and glaze them with the full studio range. Tom fires everything the same week.
£35
15:00–17:30 · Room 1 · With Ana Beltrán · A film, then an hour of guided conversation with Ana Beltrán. B1 and up; the film has subtitles, the conversation does not.
£8
11:00–12:30 · Hall · With Marcus Reid · One adult + one child (8+). Guitars provided. Three chords, one song, and an honest answer to “should we sign up?”.
£12 / pair
09:30–12:30 · Room 3 + live online · With Sarah Lindqvist · Full Paper 1 under exam conditions, marked within a week with written feedback. Open to students not on the course.

“I booked the March batch because the date was printed. Ten weeks later I held a ten-minute conversation with my host family in Lyon — in French, start to finish.”
Jess M. · French A2 — Speak from Week One · Started Wed 04 Mar, finished Wed 06 May
Now booked on French B1, starting January.
“The countdown on the course page did it. I stopped ‘meaning to learn Python’ and started on the Saturday it said. By week eight my programme sorted my whole photo library.”
Priya K. · Python — Your First Programme · Jun–Aug, live online
“Six Tuesdays, four glazed bowls, one very wonky vase I refuse to throw away. Tom never once said ‘good enough’ — he showed me the fix instead.”
Dan W. · Pottery — Wheel Basics · Sep–Oct, Studio 2
Notes from the timetable · Twice a month
28 Oct · Admissions
The best course is the one whose time survives your worst week. A five-minute method for picking a slot that still works in week nine.
21 Oct · Music
Twelve weeks, twelve students, four pianos. Ruth Ellery walks through a term — scales, sight-reading, and the week it all clicks.

Split any course fee into three equal monthly payments, starting the month your course starts. The total is the same as paying in full — a £228 course is 3 × £76, exactly. No credit check and no interest; if a payment fails we email you before anything else happens.
If a batch is on the board as “Boarding”, it is confirmed and it runs. In the rare case we cancel a “Booking” batch that has not filled, you choose: a full refund within five working days, or a free transfer to the next batch with your fee frozen.
Yes — one free switch to any later batch of the same course, as long as you tell us at least seven days before your start date. Inside seven days we will still try; if your place fills from the waiting list, the switch is free anyway.
A laptop, tablet or phone with a camera, and a connection that can hold a video call. The class link and digital workbook arrive by email the day before session one. Online groups stay small enough for the teacher to know everyone by name — and to notice if you go quiet.
Yes. Clay, glazes, tools, aprons and kiln firing for your course pieces are inside the fee — pottery students take home up to four finished pieces fired free. Extra firing is £3 per piece, printed on the course page before you book.
Enquiries are answered within one working day, Mon–Sat.
